Marcus Smart attended Edward S. Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas. He was a standout athlete in both basketball and football, earning All-American honors in both sports. In his senior year, he led the Marcus High School basketball team to the Texas State Championship, where he won the tournament's Most Valuable Player Award. Smart was also named Mr. Texas Basketball and Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2012. His success at the high school level paved the way for a successful career in college and in the NBA.
